Oracle said Thursday afternoon that the firm has received clearance from the U.S. Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission on its proposed acquisition of BEA Systems. The early termination of the Hart-Scott-Rodino review period is one of the regulatory hurdles the firm has to pass in its $8.5B deal for BEA; the firm is still subject to BEA stockholder approval and approval from the European Commission on the acquisition. Oracle announced its acquisition of BEA Systems in January.
