Chartered Buys Fab Operations In Singapore In $240M Deal
Milpitas-based Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing Ltd. said today that it has completed the acquisition of Hitachi Semiconductor Singapore Pte Ltd, in a $240M cash deal. According to Chartered, it completed the acquisition of 100 percent of the shares in HNS, which operates an eight inch wafer fab in Singapore. Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing is a semiconductor founder. Hitachi Semiconductor Singapore Pte Ltd. was owned by Hitachi, Ltd.
