Sunnyvale-based Yahoo! has jumped on the women's web site bandwagon, saying today that it launched Yahoo! Shine, a new web site focused on women. The new site focuses on topics ranging from fashion and beauty to parenting. Yahoo said it would tap content from Conde Nast Publications and Heart Corporation, along with its own editorial team and user blog posts. Yahoo said the new site will create a better experience for women on Yahoo, and also serve advertisers targeting the female, 25 to 54 audience. The new site will be headed by Brandon Holley. The new site goes up against sites such as Glam Network, which recently raised $84.6M for its own women's web site, iVillage, and others.
