Bridgelux Finds $40M For Solid State Lighting
Sunnyvale-based Bridgelux, a provider of solid state lighting, announced the close of a $40M funding round today. The company said that the Series D round was led by VentureTech Alliance, and also included DCM, El Dorado Ventures, VantagePoint, Chrysalix Energy Venture Capital and Harris & Harris Group. $30M of the funding was in equity, the remainder in bank lines of credit. Bridgelux said the funding would allow it to pursue product development and market expansion, in addition to research and development. Bridgelux develops LED-based lighting semiconductors.
