National Semiconductor Cuts Positions
Santa Clara-based National Semiconductor said late Tuesday that the firm has cut approximately 130 people from the firm, primarily in product line and support functions. The firm said that the move was part of a "strategic alignment." The firm said it would record a charge of approximately $10M for the layoffs. The firm said it currently employes more than 7,300 people worldwide. National Semiconductor is a manufacturer of analog semiconductors and related components.
