Mountain View-based Google said Monday that it has opened up its content network in North America, and will begin accepting third party advertising tags. According to Google, the new ads will allow its advertisers to serve and track display ads and rich media. Google said it will allow use of DoubleClick and Mediaplex as ad servers, and rich media advertising from DoubleClick Rich Media, Eyeblaster, EyeWonder, Interpolls, PointRoll, Unicast, along with tracking from Dynamic Logic, IAG Research, InsightExpress, Factor TG. Google said it was not accepting third-party tags in the past because it did not have a way of reviewing ads to ensure compliance with its format standards and policies.
