Flickr Ties With Getty
Flickr, the online photo sharing site operated by Yahoo, said today that the site has inked a deal with Getty Images, a major provider of stock photography, to allow Flickr users to sell their images through Getty. According to Flickr, the site is working with Getty to create a collection of royalty free, rights ready and rights managed photographs. Flickr said that Getty Images' photo editors will identify photos that they would like to feature in the collection and reach out directly to members of the Flickr community. Timing and financial details of the deal were not released.
