San Francisco-based EmSense, which develops brainwave measurement technology for studying how audiences respond to media messaging, has raised a funding round from the Foundry Group. The funding occurred in late July. Amount of the funding was not disclosed. According to Foundry Group, EmSense's technology is based on EEG neuroscience and a headset which tracks brainwaves, temperature, motion, eye movement, pulse, and breathing data to measure an audience's reaction to media experiences, including reactions to TV commercial, video games, and more. EmSense was founded in 2004, and was founded by seven MIT graduates.
