Skydeck Raises Series A Funding
San Mateo-based Skydeck said today that the firm has closed a Series A round of financing, bringing the company's total raised to $4M. The new funding came from Saban Ventures, an investor focused on the media, entertainment and communications industries. The firm has previously raised an undisclosed, prior angel round of $1M. Skydeck develops software used to track mobile phone calls, text messages, and contacts. According to the firm, the funding will go to accelerate delivery of its service to mobile devices. Craig Cooper of Saban Ventures will join the firm's board, as part of the funding. Cooper was a co-founder of Boost Mobile.
