Thomson Reuters and the National Venture Capital Association reported Monday that venture capital fundraising dropped in Q3, to $8.1 billion raised during the quarter. The numbers were a 29% drop from last year in terms of numbers, and a 6% decrease in terms of dollar value. For the year, VC funds have so far raised $24.326B in funds. The largest funds for the quarter were Sequoia Capital US Growth Fund IV, at $929.5M;
Austin Ventures X, L.P. at $900M, and InterWest Partners X, L.P, at $650M.
