Intel Capital, the venture capital arm of Intel, said this week that it has made three investments in China. According to the firm, it has invested $20M in Trony Solar Holdings Co, a provider of thin film solar energy products; invested in NP Holdings Limited (NPH), which develops massive electricity storage systems; and also invested in Viewhigh, a provider of software and services to China's healthcare industry. Intel has two venture funds focused on China: the $200M Intel Capital China Technology Fund, and its new, $500M Intel Capital China Technology Fund II, which was created in April.
