San Francisco-based New Relic, a developer of Ruby on Rails development software, announced today that it has raised $6M in a Series B funding round. According to New Relic, the round was led by Trinity Ventures, and also included prior investor Benchmark Capital. New Relic develops a subscription-based product to detect Ruby on Rails application performance problems. Benchmark's Peter Fenton becomes Chairman of the firm's board, and Trinity's Dan Scholnick also joins the board as part of the funding. New Relic's RPM software finds performance bottlenecks in Rails applications, and helps developer understand the performance of their software.
