Google Adds LIFE Photo Archive
Mountain View-based Google has inked a deal to include photos from LIFE magazine in its Google Image Search service, the firm announced Tuesday morning. According to Google, it will include LIFE's Photo Archive within its Google Image Search site, including photos and etchings dating back to the 1750's. Google said it is digitizing the archives -- many never published -- from negatives, slides, glass plates, etchings, and prints, totaling about 10 million photos to its service.
