Trimble Buys Callidus Precision Systems
Sunnyvale-based Trimble said today that it has acquired the assets of German firm Callidus Precision Systems GmbH, a provider of 3D laser scanning products for the industrial market. Callidus develops 3D scanners used for shipbuilding, the power and manufacturing process plant market, and other applications. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Callidus is based in Halle, Germany, and will become part of Trimble's Power, Process, and Plant Division. Trimble is a manufacturer of GPS, construction, and related hardware and systems.
