Offerpal Gets $15M
Fremont-based Offerpal Media, which operates a social media and widget software firm, said today that it has raised $15M in a Series B round of funding. The round was led by D.E. Shaw Ventures, and also included InterWest Partners and North Bridge Venture Partners. Offerpal said the funding will go to growth and development of its platform. Offerpal's software allows social applications or web sites to add advertising into its products, and is being used in widget software on Facebook, MySpace, Bebo, hi5, and other social networking web sites.
