MuleSource Taps MySQL For Board Member
MuleSource Inc. reported this morning that it has appointed MySQL executive Mark Burton to its board of directors. According to MuleSource, Burton has served since 2005 as executive vice president for MySQL, where he was responsible for growing and managing that company’s international sales and partner organization. Burton's efforts, MuleSource said, ultimately led Sun Microsystems' $1 billion acquisition of MySQL in early 2008. Burton also worked as group vice president of worldwide sales and alliances at Informatica Corp., MuleSource noted. Headquartered in San Francisco and founded in 2006, MuleSource is an open-source, service-oriented architecture infrastructure software maker. The company is backed by Hummer Winblad Venture Partners, Lightspeed Venture Partners and Morgenthaler Ventures.
