Ocarina Networks Gets $20M
San Jose-based Ocarina Networks, a developer of content- and object-based storage and dedeuplication software, said this morning that it has raised $20M in a Series B funding round. The round was led by JAFCO Ventures, and also included Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Highland Capital Partners. The firm claims that its technology uses compression and de-duplication techniques to reduce space used by online data by up to 90%. Joe Horowitz of JAFCO Ventures will join the firm's board as part of the funding.
