San Francisco-based
Glam Media is jumping on the Twitter bandwagon, saying Tuesday that it has launched its own, micro-blogging platform called
Tinker.com. According to Glam, its new site will allow people to find, follow, filter, create and share their conversations similar to the Twitter and Facebook micro-blogging sites. The firm said it will aggregate conversations from Twitter, Facebook, and Friendfeed within its own micro-blogging service, organized by different categories. The new site includes trends and charts, and Glam said it will offer a "safe monetization model" for brand advertisers looking to tap into social media, by filtering out "potentially harmful"posts. The company also said it will also look to share revenue with content creators for "professional micro-bloggers."
