Computer game publisher NCsoft Corp. announced Tuesday that its development studio based in Mountain View—formerly known as NCsoft NorCal—has been renamed Paragon Studios. Brian Clayton, Paragon's general manager, said the name change was made to underscore the studio's focus on its "City of Heroes" product line, of which Clayton is executive producer. Toward that end, NCsoft reported, the Mountain View-based studio has launched "City of Heroes: Architect Edition"—the company's first "hybrid" retail pack for both PC and Macintosh. Headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, NCsoft specializes in developing massively multiplayer online role-playing games. The firm opened the Northern California studio in fall 2007. Since then, NCsoft noted, the studio has grown from an initial staff of 20 to more than 50 employees.
