Symantec Buys Mi5 Networks
Cupertino-based security software firm Symantec announced Tuesday that it has acquired Sunnyvale-based Mi5 Networks, a developer of anti-spyware and web gateway technology. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. According to Symantec, the buy will bolster its security portfolio. Mi5 was privately held, with investments by First Round Capital.
