U.S. Venture Partners reported Tuesday that former Tessera Technologies CEO Bruce McWilliams has come aboard as an executive in residence. The Menlo Park-based venture capital firm described McWilliams as a semiconductor industry veteran with more than 20 years of executive and technical management experience. He served as Tessera's chief executive officer from 1999-2008, U.S. Venture Partners said, and still chairs that firm's board. McWilliams' previous stops include a stint as senior vice president for Flextronics International, founding nCHIP Inc.--which Flextronics later acquired--and serving as that startup's CEO, and founding and leading another silicon-oriented firm, S-Vision.
