Mountain View-based Skyline Solar said today that the firm has launched out of stealth mode, and raised $24.6M in a Series A funding. According to Skyline, it is developing solar arrays focused on the commercial, industrial, government and utility markets. The firm said it is funded by $24.6M in a Series A funding led by New Enterprise Associates, along with other undisclosed financial and strategic investors. The firm also said that it has inked a deal to construct a demonstration plant with the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA), in San Jose. The company claims it delivers "ten times more energy per gram of silicon" versus traditional flat-panel solar systems.
