Oracle announced this morning that it has agreed to acquire Virtual Iron Software, a developer of server virtualization management software. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. According to Oracle, it will combine Virtual Irons' technology with its server virtualization technology. Virtual Iron was founded in 2003, and was based in Lowell, Mass. The firm was venture backed by Highland Capital, Matrix Partners, Goldman Sachs, Intel Capital, and SAP Ventures.
