Tensilica Gets Strategic Investment
Santa Clara-based Tensilica disclosed Monday that the firm has received a strategic investment from DOCOMO Capital. Financial terms of the funding were not announced. DOCOMO Capital is the venture capital arm of Japanese wireless carrier NTT DOCOMO. Tensilica develops semiconductors, focused on CPUs and DSPs which are used in mobile phones and other consumer devices. The firm is venture backed by Altera Corporation, Cisco Systems, Conexant Systems, Matsushita Electric Industries, NEC, Foundation Capital, Meritech Capital, Oak Investment Partners and Worldview Technology Partners.
