ZeroG Wireless, a manufacturer of low-power Wi-Fi semiconductors, reported yesterday that it has hired Greg Winner as chief executive officer. The Sunnyvale-based company said Winner previously served as general manager of Atheros Communications' Global Positioning Systems business unit. Before that, ZeroG noted, he was CEO of u-Nav Microelectronics. He has also served as senior vice president of engineering and quality at Applied Micro Circuits Corp. and as a product development manager at Silicon Systems, ZeroG said. ZeroG is a privately held company. Its backers include Battery Ventures, Greylock Partners, Morgenthaler Ventures and Miven.
