Symantec: Google Groups Being Used By Trojan
Symantec reported Friday that the firm has seen a new Trojan which uses Google's online groups service as a command-and-control structure. Symantec said that the Trojan is the first where it has seen a newsgroup being used to control compromised computers on the web; those Trojans typically use either open Internet ports, or instant messaging protocols and networks for controlling botnets.
