Firm Sues HP, Apple, Sony, Dell, Others Over 3Com Patents
A new company, which owns the rights to 3Com's Ethernet patents, revealed Friday afternoon that it has filed suit against Acer, Apple, ASUS, Dell, Fujitsu, Gateway, Hewlett Packard, Sony, and Toshiba, claiming those firms are infringing on patents held by 3Com Corporation covering Ethernet technology. Texas-based U.S. Ethernet Innovations said that it was formed to continue 3Com Corporation's licensing program on behalf of its portfolio of foundational patents in Ethernet technology.
