SourceForge Becomes Geeknet
Mountain View-based SourceForge said Wednesday that it has renamed itself Geeknet, saying that the new name "more accurately reflects the company's business and growing market." The firm specifically highlighted its efforts to expand the reach of its online advertising services into new categories, and to better approach Madison Avenue. Geeknet operates tech news sites Slashdot, ThinkGeek, and Ohloh, in addition to running SourceForge.
