Mochi Media Acquired by Shanda Games
San Francisco-based Mochi Media, which provides advertising for Flash-based games, has been acquired by Chinese firm Shanda Games. The deal was worth $60M in cash plus $20M in equity retention arrangements. According to Shanda Games, the acquisition will add over 15,000 browser-based games in Mochi Media's network to its existing portfolio of online games. Mochi Media was venture backed by Shasta Ventures and Accel Partners, and had raised $14M in funding.
