SiBEAM Snags $36.5M
Sunnyvale-based SiBEAM, a developer of millimeter wave semiconductors used for high speed wireless communications, announced today that it has raised $36.5M in a Series D round of funding. The round was led by Foundation Capital, and also included US Venture Partners, New Enterprise Associates, Lux Capital, Hatteras Funds, Best Buy, and Cisco. The firm said the new funding will go to support its growth, and bring its second generation, 60 Ghz wireless chipsets to the consumer electronics market. The new round brings the firm's total raised to more than $113M.
