A report released Thursday from
Dow Jones VentureSource reported that global venture capital investing is up 13 percent in the first quarter of 2010, as the market for investment rebounded. According to Dow Jones, there was $7 billion invested in 919 deals for companies in the U.S., Europe, Canada, Israel, Mainland China and India. The U.S. continued to lead the worldwide venture numbers, with 65 percent of the deals, and 67 percent of the dollars for Q1. Dow Jones said that deal sizes rose in every region except the U.S., which had a median deal size of $4.5M, down from $5M in Q1 of 2009.
