Sunnyvale-based Yahoo said this morning that it has acquired Jakarta, Indonesia-based Koprol, a provider of location-based and community services. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Koprol operates a Foursquare-like service which allows users to share photos, reviews, and information about locations in real-time. Yahoo said it plans to use the acquisition to make its properties and applications, including its homepage and media and communications products, even more locally relevant.
