SureWest Cuts Staff
Roseville-based SureWest Communications said Tuesday that it has cut 7 percent of its overall workforce, or approximately 60 positions, as part of a restructuring. The firm said the cuts included 45 workers in the Sacramento market, eight workers in Kansas city, and seven unfilled positions. The firm said the cuts come from declining telecom revenues from traditional telephone lines, and diminishing regulatory subsidies.
