BookRenter Gets $10M
San Mateo-based BookRenter, an online textbook rental store, said today that it has raised $10M in a Series B funding round. The round was led by Norwest Venture Partners, and also included prior investors Storm Ventures and Adams Capital Management. The new funding brings the company's total raised to $16.0M, including a $6.0M Series A the firm announced back in November of last year. BookRenter said the funding will go towards growth initiatives. Sergio Monsalve of Norwest joins the company's board as part of the funding. BookRenter allows students to rent their textbooks, instead of paying for them.
