San Francisco-based women's media firm
Sugar said today that it has acquired
FreshGuide, an online, local city guide and shopping site for women. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Sugar said that, among other reasons, the acquisition helps it create "diverse revenue streams" for the firm. FreshGuide was founded in 2008 by Ryan Donahue, and currently operates sites in San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Los Angeles and Seattle. FreshGuide offers daily local shopping offers for women, alongside information about local businesses. Sugar is venture backed by Sequoia Capital.
