San Mateo-based
Coremetrics, a developer of web analytics software, has been acquired by
IBM, IBM announced this morning. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. IBM said the acquisition would expand its business analytics capabilities. Coremetrics offers a web-analytics software suite used to analyze and measure web site traffic and performance, with major customers such as Bank of America, Holiday Inn, PETCO, Virgin Atlantic, and others. IBM said it will continue to support and enhance Coremetrics technologies and clients, and hire approximately 230 of Coremetrics employees as part of the acquisition.
