Yahoo Expands Arabic, European Customer Support In Egypt
Sunnyvale-based Yahoo is expanding its customer support operations in a deal with IBM, saying today that it will begin offering customer care services for Arabic-language version of its products, plus support for Spanish, German, French, Italian, Turkish, Polish, Romanian, and Russian. The language support comes out of a deal with IBM, which will provide the support out of a center in Cairo, Egypt. As part of the deal, the firms said that IBM will be recruiting a "significant number" of multi-lingual Egyptian professionals who speak Turkish, Polish, Romanian, and Russian. Yahoo said the expansion is a part of growth plans in the Middle East.
