Salesforce.com, Microsoft Settle Patent Spat
San Francisco-based Salesforce.com and computer software giant Microsoft said Wednesday that the two have settled a set of patent lawsuits. Financial details of the patent settlement were not disclosed. Microsoft said it is being compensated by Salesforce.com for its use of Microsoft's patents. The firms said that Salesforce.com will receive broad coverage under Microsoft's patent portfolio, and Microsoft will receive patent coverage under Salesforce.com's own patents. Microsoft had sued Salesforce.com over patent infringement in May.
