Apple Buys Imsense Ltd.
Cupertino-based Apple Computer has acquired UK-firm Imsense Ltd., to bolster its HDR features of its recently released iOS 4.1. According to a report in MacRumors, Imsense--which developed an HDR (high dynamic range) photo application for the Apple App Store--appears to have been acquired in July by Apple, based on details from Imsense's venture backers, regulatory filings, and other sources. Financial terms of the buy have not been announced. iOS 4.1 includes an HDR feature for the iPhone camera, which uses multiple exposures to provide better dynamic range in photographs.
