Palo Alto-based
True Ventures, along with New York-based
Betaworks, have appeared to have just made an investment in
Pingpin, a stealth mode developer of mobile applications. The funding came to light via a regulatory filing. The Series A funding deal was worth $775,000. Pingpin is headed by Jyri Engestrom, who was previously a product manager at Google, and was co-founder and Chairman of Jaiku. The firm now lists Jon Callaghan of True Ventures as a board member, and has its address listed as that of Betaworks in New York.
