Redwood Shores-based Oracle said Wednesday that it has made a strategic investment in Mellanox Technologies, a developer of Infiniband switching technology. Mellanox, is based in Sunnyvale and Yokneam, Israel. Financial terms of the investment were not disclosed. Oracle said it has acquired 10.2 percent of Mellanox's ordinary shares in the open market, saying that the investment would "solidify common interest" in Infiniband. As part of the investment, Oracle said it would leverage Mellanox's Infiniband products to complement Oracle's Exadata and Exalogic solutions.
