Twilio Calls Up $12M
San Francisco-based Twilio, a developer of cloud-based telephony tools and APIs, has raised $12M in a Series B round. The round was led by Bessemer Venture Partners, and also included Union Square Ventures, 500 Startups, and the firm's other investors. Twilio's APIs allow users to create telephony applications -- such as interactive voice response (IVR) and similar apps -- via its cloud-based, application programming interfaces.
