SunPower To Open Austin Office
San Jose-based SunPower Corp., the manufacturer of solar cells, solar panels, and solar power systems, said Thursday evening that it is opening up an office in Austin. SunPower said the move came after the Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) said it would invest $2.5M in the firm, and after the City of Austin said it would provide SunPower a $900,000 grant. The new office will house marketing, legal, and finance functions for the firm, and will create as many as 450 jobs over the next four years in the location.
