Golden Gate Capital Wins Conexant
Private equity firm Golden Gate Capital has won the bidding war for Conexant, after Standard Microsystems declined to up its bid for the semiconductor maker. Conexant said Wednesday afternoon that it has terminated its earlier merger agreement with SMSC, paying SMSC $7.7M, and agreed to be acquired by Golden Gate Capital.
