Google Launches Major Algorithm Change
Mountain View-based Google has launched a major change to its search algorithms, saying last night that it has made a "pretty big" improvement to its rankings, designed to reduce rankings for low quality sites. Google siad the new changes will reduce rankings for sites which provide low value for users, copy content from other websites, or which are "just not very useful". The changes are expected to affect "content farms"--sites which churn out low quality text just for search engine ranking.
