National Semiconductor Acquired By Texas Instruments
Santa Clara-based National Semiconductor is being acquired by Texas Instruments in a $6.5 billion, all cash deal, the firms said Monday afternoon. The two said that National Semiconductor's shareholders will receive $25 in cash for each of their shares. TI had $6.0 billion in analog revenues in 2010, with National with $1.6 billion in revenues. The firms said that National's headquarters will remain in Santa Clara after the deal.
