U.S. Venture Funds Raises $7.7B In Q1
U.S. venture capital firms raised $7.7 billion in the first quarter of 2011, according to numbers released today by Dow Jones LP Source. Dow Jones reported 25 fund closings in the quarter, raising almost double the $3.9 billion collected in Q1 of last year. The amount was the highest first quarter total since 2001. Sequoia Capital, Bessemer Venture Partners, and a few other funds dominated the fundraising efforts in the quarter, said Dow Jones.
