Authentic8 Gets Funding
Mountain View-based Authentic8, a new startup developing secure Internet browser technology, has scored a round of funding, according to investor the Foundry Group. Size and details of the funding were not disclosed. Authenic8 was co-founded by Postini founder Scott Petry and Postini exec Ramesh Rajogopal. The firm said it has created technology to prevent browser-borne threats, using a Firefox codebase an virtual server technology to create one-time, secure browser instances. Petry sold Postini to Google in 2007 for $625M.
