Tintri Raises $18M
Mountain View-based Tintri, the developer of VMware-specific, storage appliances, said this morning that it has raised $18M in a Series C funding round. The round was led by NEA and Lightspeed Venture Partners, both current investors in the firm. Tintri's storage appliances let users manage their storage based on virtual machine volumes (VMware VMDKs) rather than more traditional LUNs and volumes. The firm said the funding will go towards research, development, and regional sales. Tintri's founders include Dr. Kieran Harty, former R&D head at VMware.
