EA Acquires PopCap For $750M
Redwood City-based games maker Electronic Arts said Tuesday afternoon that it has acquired PopCap Games, in a deal worth $750M plus earnout. EA said it would pay $650M in cash plus $100M in shares of its common stock, plus unspecified earnout for PopCap. PopCap is a maker of the popular casual games Bejeweled and Plants vs. Zombies.
